ASLIP RESPECTS PROFESSIONALS

Dear Members and Professionals,

ASLIP is blessed as it has grown to a huge family of more than 400 professionals from India and abroad. The contributions, suggestions and inclusiveness of its worthy members is taking ASLIP to a global level. As you all know that one of the humble endeavours of ASLIP is to start the tradition of honouring library professionals for their distinctive contributions. To reward the hardwork, dedication and contributions of the library professionals, ASLIP Executive has instituted various awards. It has been decided by the ASLIP executive to make the Exclusive Award ceremony a regular feature of ASLIP Conclave.

Categories of the Awards are:

ASLIP @80 Honour

ASLIP has decided to honour the Library Professionals (Librarians and teachers of Library Science) who have attained the age of 80 and above or going to be 80 on 31st December 2025. There is no committee to decide so all those who send their one-page biodata will be honoured.

ASLIP International Library Ratna Award

In order to encourage the professionals from abroad and India ASLIP Executive has instituted this novel award.

•         Both library professionals from India and abroad are eligible.

•         Minimum age 70 years and above.

ASLIP Best Senior Librarian Award

Age Limit: Between 54-60 years

ASLIP Best Progressive Librarian Award

Age Limit: 53 years and below

ASLIP Best School Librarian Award

Age Limit: 40 years and above

Professionals from India and abroad are encouraged to apply for the awards. Senior Professionals are also requested to recommend the names of suitable individuals for various awards.

GENERAL GUIDELINES

1. Both Indian Nationals and Indians settled abroad are eligible for the awards.

2. There is no prescribed form.

3. Detailed biodata accompanied by innovative work done should be sent.

4. Self-nominations are also considered.

5. There is no nominations fee for any award.

6. Both ASLIP members and non-members are considered for the awards. However, preference will be given to members of the ASLIP.

7. A committee of five members (confidential) have been constituted to decide about the various awards from nominations received. However, they may recommend any name whose nomination has not been received.

8. The decision of the committee shall be final. No inquiry shall be entertained.

9. The nominations received shall be kept strictly confidential.

10. The last date to receive nominations for various awards is October 2025.

The selected professionals will be informed individually.

The awards will be presented in person in a special function during ASLIP Conclave 2025 to be held in CCCHAU,Hisar from 8-9 January 2026.

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT NO AWARDS/ HONOUR WILL BE CONFERRED IN ABSENTIA
